Yes! You read the title right. Kevin and I (along with our dear friends Chad and Lindley Jackson) ran 13.1 miles this past Saturday. Before we had kids I had completed 4 other 1/2 marathons. This was my first in 5 years. Kevin did really well (2:09) considering our past month of training was interrupted by bronchitis and the stomach bug. He had run this same race last December. I finished it without dying. That was my one and only goal!! I felt pretty good about that.
That morning we were awakened by 30 degree weather so needless to say it was an icy start. Once we got going it actually felt pretty good.
It was fun being back in Memphis. We enjoyed seeing good friends, some rolls from Corky's BBQ, and some pasta from Pete and Sams. I told Kevin we must sign up for another race soon or I'll just quit running. We'll keep you posted on what happens.
