Lake Lure, NC

A few weeks ago, Kevin and I travelled to Lake Lure, NC. There was absolutely nothing to do in Lake Lure which was a good thing since we just wanted to get away and relax. Kevin's mom and dad kept the kids while we enjoyed two of our first nights away since Micah was born. You don't realize how nice it is to just be together. We always joke that we have to get reacquainted with one another. We slept in...ate great food...took walks. I must give a shout out for Larkin's On The Lake. The food (seafood and steaks) was fabulous! Lake Lure's claim to fame is that the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed on the Lake. We stayed at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa, and I got to enjoy a Swedish massage. A rare treat for a mom of three! The leaves had just begun to change so the scenery was georgeous. The downtown area of Lake Lure was a mix of touristy shops. Kevin called it, "A Gatlinburg wanna be." Since we weren't there for the shopping, it really didn't matter. We did buy some fudge for Papaw!
