This past weekend Kevin and I (and Micah) took at trip to New Orleans. Kevin's parents graciously kept our older kids.
Neither of us had been before so we were anxious to go. While there we were exposed to Desire Street Ministries-an organization that ministers to families in the 8th and 9th Wards (see desirestreet.org) We had the opportunity to meet Danny Wuerffel. Danny was the 1996 Heisman Trophy Winner and played 7 years in the NFL. He currently serves as the Executive Director of DSM. It was neat to SEE and HEAR how God is working in New Orleans. We met a young boy named David who survived Katrina. He and his family spent days in the Superdome after being taken from his home by boat. Kevin's company is taking a mission trip to partner with DSM this summer.
