My middle child is a VERY picky eater. It's almost amusing at times to watch him try to eat things. He will say he needs to use the bathroom or talk a hundred miles an hour in order to avoid something he doesn't want to eat. He will often gag just at the thought of the food on his plate.
Well tonight was no different. We had lasagne. I don't understand how anyone could not like that, but he doesn't. He didn't eat much at all. When it was time for a cookie he was promptly told that he had not eaten well enough for one. A little while later he still wanted a cookie so we told him he could eat his lasagne and then get a cookie. So he sat down for take two. He just could not overcome his fear of lasagne. He said to me, "Mom? Why did God make the rule that you have to eat your food so you can get dessert?" I laughed so hard! He still didn't get his cookie!

Parker sounds just like Jacks! He usually eats anything for milk and dessert! Too funny! I always threaten to give it to him for breakfast like Carolyn said to do and I've never had to do it, so it's working! haha
Parker and I are just alike on that one. I don't eat it either---because of the cheese!!!!!!
Hahahaha! Too funny. I still remember many a time that I sat at the dinner table for hours trying to eat things like squash. One time, my mom made me eat my dinner for breakfast:( Scarred for life, but I'll definitely make my kids eat their food before a cookie!
